DK Developer in Argentina Creates GIS Marketing and Stolen Car Recovery Solutions

December 22, 2003

Digital Map has developed two interesting custom GIS solutions from the DK-VCL toolkit for corporate clients in Argentina: i) the GPS computer map tracking functionality used with the LoJack Corporation (a USA company) stolen car recovery system, and ii) a marketing solution for the Argentine operations of the French hypermarket chain, Carrefour. Click here to see the quote provided by this client.

The GIS marketing solution created for the Carrefour hypermarket chain in Argentina is designed to support the company's home-delivery service. The solution allows the marketing analyst to visualize the geographical layout of the sales distribution, plan which geographic areas to provide the home-delivery service, and manage the routing of the deliveries to the proper address locations. The DK routing functionality was customized and enhanced to generete optimum multi-destination routes. Twelve Carrefour hypermarket locations in Argentina presently use this system, with the most active store using the system to manage 500-700 deliveries per day. This system has been operational in Carrefour stores since July 2001.
