Question
liuj asked on July 27, 2016, keyword: Developer Kernel

I have a ESRI Personal Geodatabase , which there is a layer with few fields.

One of these field is Required .

I want to create a shape in the layer,but failed.

my code :

var ttkLayer: TGIS_LayerSqlPgdbAdo;

       ttkShape: TGIS_Shape;

begin

//......

ttkShape := ttkLayer.CreateShape(ttkLayer.DefaultShapeType);// raise Exception

show a  message "The field <name> cannot contain a Null value because the Required property for this field is set to True. "

How to handle the problem?

Thanks  advance.

Yes, this is a bug or rather a missing feature. Upon creating a new shape we insert new record into a table but there is no check or event to allow a user to fill required or default values. Most clients solve this using triggers before insert on database site.
