Q&A - Question Rendering performance Question FabD asked on January 03, 2017, keyword: Developer Kernel Hello. I'm trying the .NET DK. I would like to buy a license but I'm hesitant because of the rendering performance. I've created some geodatabase layers from a PostgreSQL database using the TGIS_LayerSqlPgisLibpq class. All works good, but the rendering performance are not so good (compared to other softwares like QGIS). Are there some settings to speed up the performance? I read about IncrementalPaint, but is already enabled. I read also about the R-Tree, but is not available for geodatabase layers. Thank you very much Answers Artur Redzko (TatukGIS) replied December 09, 2016 It's not reliable to compare C++ native Windows application with .NET framework, that will always be slower. Please try to compare it using e.g. the TatukGIS Editor application and let us know about times you measured. Visually you can switch the viewer CachedPaint property off to see drawing immediately. Anyway, performance mostly depends on the data you use. If it's a large dataset, try to set : - RowsetSize=2000 - GeometryFieldCast=Native parameters in your .ttkls file (see help for detailed info) for Libpq connection. FabD replied December 09, 2016 Thank you for your answer. I've tried the settings, but I can't change the RowsetSize. If I add the RowsetSize=2000 parameter in the path string, I get this error: TatukGIS.NDK.EGIS_Exception: 0171 Server reports error "ERROR: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block (State) 25P02 (Position)-1" Thanks Artur Redzko (TatukGIS) replied December 12, 2016 Please report this issue to support@tatukgis.com along with sample data to reproduce the problem. Danv replied January 03, 2017 Why would you add the RowSetSize in the path string? It should be a separate line in the ttkls. I have tried this as I use PostGIS as well and it works without a problem If you would like to answer the question please Sign In. * * Stay signed in on this computer Please review our recent Privacy Policy. If you have any questions or requests, please contact us.
