Q&A - Question How to count points inside polygons from another layer? Question RorG asked on November 24, 2016, keyword: Viewer / Editor I need to perform a density count of points in Layer A inside each polygon in Layer B. Resulting layer should have polygons from Layer B with density count column. How can this be done in Tatuk Editor? Answers RorG replied November 13, 2016 This could also be handled in Excel if I could find a way to perform a spatial join in Tatuk Editor. Eg, join the feature information between the two layers. Monika Pencierzynska (TatukGIS) replied November 22, 2016 You can check our Binning script that creates polygon layer with hexagonal shapes. New layer contains attribute Density with a number of shapes from existing point layer within each hexagon. I know it is not exactly what you need, but you can see how to create a loop through two layers and count the shapes. We also want to create a new script with a functionality that you described, so please keep up to date with the Editor versions. Danv replied November 24, 2016 I guess you want a little change. The binning process creates hexagons. You want an extra column in your layer B with the amount of points of layer A inside each polygon. Do you need a ready to use function or do you need a small script to do this for you? I can drop you a small script to do this. You can drop me an email on dvhooren@smalltogo.com Greetings Danny...
