Binning Script: Is Radius input circumradius or interior radius?

Question
RorG asked on November 12, 2016, keyword: Viewer / Editor

There is a xx% difference between circumradius (radius of corner to center) and interior radius (radius of side to center), also called apothem.

See 'R' vs 'r' here:

When using the Binning Tool in Editor, which radius is being assumed?

I discovered the answer: the Radius is circumradius (same distance as one side) and input measuerment is in Feet not Meters.

An input of 155 radius yields hexagons that are 5800 m2. Therefore the input is feet, not meters. (155 meters would yield area 62,418 m2)

Expected units are map units. If map is in feet then script calculates in feet. If map has no a valid coordinate system then units are still map units mut this tike "unknown". We suggest to always reproject project to a coordinate system that is reasonable for area of operation.
